Study Approved For Courthouse Parking

   During a meeting Tuesday, members of the board that governs Lawrence County voted to allow a study regarding parking at the courthouse.

   The vote was taken on recommendation of the county’s Facilities Committee. Members of that panel urged that a study be completed in order to estimate the cost associated with allotting additional parking spaces at the front (south) of the building (in the area where the fountains are now located.)

   The committee estimates that, by converting the space into a parking area, the courthouse could gain some 27 additional parking spaces.

   County Executive Paul Rosson is authorized to contract with TLM Associates for design and cost estimates associated with the project.
